Summary of declarations

This declaration states that the content of your application and any supporting documents is true and complete, to the best of your knowledge.

As noted on the system, if any statements you have made or information you have provided is discovered to be false or misleading, or if any relevant information has been withheld, your application may be disqualified – or if you have been appointed, you may be dismissed - and you may be reported to the GMC.

The content of your application must be your own work, and not copied or reproduced from any other sources. ‹ Declaration 2 explains that you agree to this, and signifies your understanding that your application could be disqualified if any of your application is found to be not original.

In line with the Data Protection Act 1998, this declaration indicates your understanding of, and consent to, the information in your application being processed, recorded and potentially shared to some degree to analyse the effectiveness of recruitment procedures in future.

Please do note that under no circumstances will anyone taking part in such analysis be able to access any data by which a candidate could be identified.

Declaration 4 states that you are aware of the GMC’s guidance in Good Medical Practice stating that candidates must not withdraw from a formally accepted post unless the employer has time to make other arrangements, and that failure to comply with this could result in a complaint to the GMC.

Once you have been allocated a training post, any subsequent employment contract will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks being carried out; this declaration ensures you are aware of this.

Similar to 5, this declares your understanding that any employment is subject to satisfactory medical clearance being granted, which may include a medical examination, blood tests, etc.

Declaration 7 states that you are aware that any candidates who are recommended for training will be subject to the appropriate disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), and that candidates should inform the relevant deanery and trust of any new criminal convictions, investigations or fitness to practise proceedings which arise after the completion and submission of their application form.

Lastly, the eighth declaration states that you consent to your MRCP(UK) results being shared with deaneries/UoAs upon release. The use of this information will be in strictest confidence, to enable deaneries/UoAs to assess quickly the outcome of any proleptic offers that have been made.
