The NHS requires that equality and diversity information is requested of candidates during the application process, so that their recruitment practices can be monitored.

Here you will be asked to provide information on factors such as your age, gender, ethnic origin, religious beliefs etc.

Employers obliged to collect equality & diversity data

In order to comply with obligations placed upon them under equalities legislation, employers are obliged by law to collect and analyse this information.

Deanery-designated human resources/recruitment administrators are the only individuals with the right to access this information.

They will liaise with your employing organisation to help ensure that they are adhering to equality and diversity guidelines.

No access to information during recruitment process

The recruitment panels do not have permission to access this information at any time during the scoring process.

'Do not wish to disclose' options available

While you will notice that each of the fields here is marked as mandatory - ie each field must be answered - as a result of the above requirement, please note that each field also offers the option of not disclosing.

So if you do not wish to provide information within a particular field, you do not have to do so.
